"valen-tiny"

thank you tip junkie for featuring me on your blog!

tip junkie featured my "valen-tiny magnets" on her blog along with some other wonderful valentine crafts.
i made these adorable valentine magnets with mod podge, scrap paper and some teeny tiny stones. for the message,"will you be my valen-tiny?", i just typed it up using a cute font and printed them on pink and white paper. smear the mod podge on the stone first and then place the pre-cut paper on it and mod podge again... i just used my fingers. you can find magnets to fit at michaels. super glue these to the stones.
i made these last year and gave them all away... thinkin' i need to make some more... for me.

i hope you will stop by tip junkie and see all the other great valentine crafts!

moving on

it's hard to move on from situations that hit you in the stomach and slam your heart in the door
it's really hard

i believe God's plans for us are so dear, so individual and so intentional. He places things, moments and people before us with much thought and purpose so that we may remember He is at the forefront of everything.

today, sara mincy posted this verse on her blog

... let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus... Romans 12:1-2

no doubt this verse was meant for me to read today

my head cannot seem to let go
this definitely has not brought out the best in me
and for that i am gently reminded... i need to lay some things aside

2 thumbs up chicken enchiladas

Menu planning today... It's not fresh and probably not healthy, but all meals in my house are not always going to make Dr. Oz's top 10. It's a meal made with lots of love and a cheerful heart, tonight anyways :), and that is all that matters today. Also, my girl friend down the street made it for her family last week and got a major 2 thumbs up!

2 cans 98% fat free cream of chicken soup

1 cup light sour cream

3 cups shredded chicken breast

2 small cans verde sauce (I also added 1/2 cup New Mexico smoked green chili's- we like spicy!)

2 cups cheddar cheese

10 flour tortillas

Mix first 4 ingredients (this portion can be frozen ahead of time). Spray 11 x 9 dish with Pam and spread a little bit of soup mixture on bottom. Cut tortillas in 1/2 to make first layer. Add soup mixture then cheese. Repeat. Cook on 375 for 30 minutes.

here's our new baby, ellie! she's curious and naughty... good thing she is so darn cute! we told her she has big shoes to fill! our first dog missy was near perfect.

i've been busy, but then who hasn't right?
check out the soap bottles, hand sanitizers and frames i made and sold for charity

they turned out really cute and... i sold out

don't even tell me you have a tree decorated in every room and the christmas lights up!
my thanksgiving decorations are still out, ugh! i'll blame it on the new baby :)

til then

i'm taking a break from writing, not from reading though!

in fact, i really enjoy reading other blogs and commenting on them more than writing on my own. so not to worry, i'll check in with all my faves regularly...

til then... and with lots of love, adrienne

where are my pictures?

on the way to the deer lease! that is where my halloween party pictures are. hubby has our camera with him, grrrr! oh my, we girls had so much fun and everyone was decked out to the nines! oh well, more about that later...

today i will experiment making candy colored popcorn using a secret ingredient... dry jello. i have tasted the most wonderful popcorn like this at trade days in canton, tx. it is so yummy and reminds me of froot loops (that cereal my mom thought was devilish and never bought for me and... big surpise here, i won't buy it for my kids either! LOL!!) anyway, i have no idea if jello is what is in that yummy popcorn in canton but i found the recipe on the internet and i'm going to give it a try.

if all goes well, i may just try to sell large bags of it at the craft sale in november and also i'll gladly share the recipe here at Lots of Love! btw, all proceeds from my sales at the craft sale will be donated to the scottish rites hospital for children... not that i'm expecting huge proceeds or anything! :)

cranberry cilantro salsa

i am making a yummy cranberry cilantro salsa for tonight's costume bunko party that i am hosting in my home. i had to go to 3 grocery stores to find fresh cranberries... thank you super target for fixing me up! this dip is delicious atop cream cheese, but then what isn't, right? it is both colorful and pretty and although i'm making it for a halloween party tonight, it makes a very festive dip for a christmas party too. disappears every time!

i love sharing recipes and finding new ones so, i am joining Rhoda at Southern Hospitality for her recipe party today. i hope you'll stop by and join in the fun. see you there!
cranberry cilantro salsa

1 bag fresh cranberries
1 bunch fresh cilantro
4-5 green onions
2 fresh jalepeno peppers, remove seeds
1 lime
2/3 cup sugar
8 oz block cream cheese

wash all veggies and chop together in food processor. squeeze lime juice into a small bowl and sugar into the juice. mix all ingredients together and chill for at least one hour.

spread softened cream cheese onto a serving platter and cover with the cranberry mixture. serve with crackers of choice.
